1.5 Lakh from Gujarat to Attend The World Cultural Festival by The Art of Living

Around 1.5 lakh from Gujarat will take part in World Cultural Festival in Delhi organized by The Art of Living during 11-12-13 March. Over 15,000 artists are going to perform in this festival. They include 2000 non-professional artists who would perform Garba dance. Over 900 artists from Gujarat, many of them who play musical instruments will take part in the festival scheduled to take place in Delhi.

43 types of non-electric musical instruments will be played in this function which will also be participated by more than 20 blind artists. 16 boys from Sanskrit school ‘Gurukulam’ will also take part. 125 artists will represent Ahmedabad. 200 will be from around Ahmedabad. 150 will be from Surat and surrounding areas. 200 will represent Vadodara, 150 will be from Rajkot.

The cultural festival is going to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Concluding function will be attended by President Dr. Pranab Mukherjee.

World Forum of Ethics in Business, Global Leadership Forum, 7 acre stage, 1000 acre venue, 1000 volunteers, more than 20,000 invitees from across the world, performances by 33,000 artists, performance of more than 40 musical instruments, tribal folk arts, Birju Maharaj trained Kathak dance, Bharat Nattyayam dance performance by artists trained by 3 Padma award winners, 600 drummers from South Africa, presence of 35 lakh people in span of three days are some highlights of this event which is going to be participated by visitors from 155 countries, are some of the highlights of this event.

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Founder, The Art of Living, said, “With the World Culture Festival, we hope to foster deeper understanding between people of different faiths, nationalities and backgrounds. By showcasing rich cultural traditions of dance, music and art from around the world as well as Yoga, this festival will be a unique platform for spiritual and religious gurus, politicians, peacemakers and artists to spread the message of global peace and harmony in diversity.

Chairman of the World Culture Festival Organizing Committee and VVKI trust, Commodore Sarvotham Rao, said, “The World Culture Festival will be a one-of-its-kind experience which will have a majestic gathering of 3.5 million people where everyone will unite as one big family. The festival aims to bring to the forefront age-old values and traditions that are today, fast disappearing. Thousands of years old heritage of yoga and Ayurveda will play a central role in the festival through performances, information booths and ‘join-in’ sessions.”

A very special highlight of the festival will be a ‘Peace meditation’ led bySri Sri Ravi Shankar which will be held on all three days of the festival, for the millions in attendance.
