Work load, irregular food habits with sleepless nights badly effects our psychological and physical health, said Swami Paramtej who is contributing in taking Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s vision of ‘One World Family’ to all over the world and bringing about social transformation.
Swamiji was addressing the participants of a workshop organised by the HRD department at IISCO Steel Plant, Burnpur on Friday. Swamiji taught the participants about maintaining sleep-wake schedule, healthy eating habits, setting realistic goals, avoiding unhealthy comparisons with others, appropriate prioritisation of work in hand, time management, spending quality time with friends and family, engaging in constructive activities, hobbies of choice, developing problem solving skills, enhancing coping skills, relaxation sessions, meditation, listening to music, avoiding drug and alcohol abuse.
Nowadays stress management has supreme importance in every one’s life. With the huge schedules that are given to the worker caused over stressed in them, said Swamiji. We all are suffering from high levels of stress due to excess work load, changing lifestyles, intensifying competition and changing priorities. Stress levels directly impact one’s performance, attitude, and reactions at work as well as in personal life. To some extent stress helps in improving performance. However, in excess, it may lead to significant distress and dysfunction, he said.
