The times of India,Feb 7, 2012. VADODARA: The Art of Living Foundation held a cleanliness drive around Sursagar as a part of its ongoing 'Reviving Sursagar' programme. Volunteers of the organization along with NGOs and Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) are making attempts to revive the historical water body that has been polluted over the years and now emanates a stench. The cleanliness driver, like the human chain made at the tank earlier, is a part of the awareness programmes that are being conducted by Art of Living in the first phase of the project. The aim of the drive is to ensure that people stop throwing garbage and dirty water in the pond and ensure that it remains clean. VMC mayor Dr Jyoti Pandya, municipal commissioner Ashwini Kumar, VMC opposition leader Chinnam Gandhi, standing committee chairman Dr Vijay Shah and other senior leaders and VMC functionaries also participated in the event. Art of Living's senior faculty Sangita Patel and International faculty Ashish Pandya, who envisaged the project also participated in the event. Pandya said in the second phase of the project, the issue of cleaning of Sursagar will be looked into along with its revival. Both VMC and experts will look into this.
