"In the history of the world, this is one such movement (of hundreds of thousands of people) without a single instance of violence, no damage to property, nor loss of life," said Sri Sri, founding member of the India Against Corruption movement. This movement has given impetus to the citizen-drafted, corruption watchdog, the Jan Lokpal bill.
Dancing to the soul-stirring music, and experiencing the natural high of meditation, 600 to 700 youth enjoyed the first-ever yoga rave in Surat, India. When Dr. Rita Billimoria first heard about the yoga rave concept, she decided to bring it to the youth in her community. Dr. Rita says, I practice yoga, and no high can match that high. Then I got to know that there was a yoga rave concept that already existed. We thought, why not in India?
The Art of Living team in Harare gave Blessings to over 600 people, who gathered at Mbare Musika, the biggest local market. The morning began with a few curious passerby seeing Santoshji in his white clothing. For over two hours, people waited in the hot sun for blessings. One lady who had been suffering with major headache for many days was relieved of her pain. Many more experienced such healing and were very keen to learn more about the upcoming BWS workshop.
On invitation of the government of Peru, The Art of Living has started regularly teaching the PrisonSMART courses for inmates. The fifth course has already been completed in Piedras Gordas prison. The PrisonSMART team plans to continue working straight through until next year, as the prison holds 1,800 inmates.
In a new workshop called Sri Sri Tango, the magic of the Argentinean Tango is bringing the whole family together to experience stress relief through dance and yoga.
